Making Music in a Throwaway Culture
Music has the power to transform our perception of the everyday. Using objects that have been discarded, overlooked, or devalued, this project encourages creative thinking about waste and consumption that can expand our understanding of social sustainability.

All are invited to join this research project, to explore with others the potential of discarded/broken items combined with voice, gesture, movement, and text to create meaningfully improvised music. Contact Dr. Sarah Schmalenberger to participate, at ssd161@uregina.ca

Let's redefine our relationship with what we throw away - materially and socially - through the lens of music!
